Conception, Pregnancy and Birth

Bowen can help by regulating the menstrual cycle and enhancing fertility in both Men and Women. It brings about a state of balance in the nervous system and can release areas that are blocked or unable to function optimally.

1st Trimester:

Bowen can help with fatigue, anxiety, nausea, morning sickness and emotional fluctuations associated with hormone changes, assisting the body to adapt to this new and fast-changing state.

2nd & 3rd Trimester:

The Bowen Technique is very helpful in relieving lower back pain, sciatica, swollen legs and ankles, cramps, gastric discomfort, breathing, heartburn, and reflux. As the pregnancy nears its conclusion, Bowen sessions can relieve uncomfortable pelvic pressure, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, aching feet, legs, and groin. It can also help in optimizing fetal position prior to birth and even change the babies presentation during birth.

During Labour:

Bowen moves performed on a woman in labour helps the process by relaxing pelvic muscles, ligaments and soft tissue. This allows the babies head to move deeper into the birth canal. It also helps in managing the discomfort as the intensity of each contraction increases and enhances your ability to relax, focus and feel more comfortable. Bowen can also make you feel more confident to move around, change positions and relax during contractions. Bowen can also be used as a natural induction of labour.

Post-Natal Care and Healing:

As the Bowen moves stimulate the bodies own innate abilities to heal itself and because it is so gentle and non-invasive, it can be used immediately after giving birth, after a cesarean or for perineal healing and pain relief post-delivery. It helps to reset the position of the pelvis, helping the uterus to return to its normal position and strengthens and regulates your body.

Breast Feeding:

There are specific moves to promote lactation and also moves for upper back, shoulder and neck pain often experienced during breast feeding. It can also help you to sleep better, feel rested and ready for all those new mum challenges.

TMD Postnatal Massage:

During a woman's life many changes are seen in her body. The biggest changes happen when she becomes pregnant. To support the baby inside her lots of things happen, including opening of the pelvis, movement of internal organs to make room for baby as it grows, and a softening of cartilage that holds the pelvis together. After having a baby, with Vaginal or Cesarean birth, all of these adjustments don't suddenly fall back into place.

A TMD Postnatal Massage gently softens tissue that has formed during pregnancy and lifts the uterus back up and lets the bowel, kidneys, liver, ovaries and other organs return to their normal place within the abdominal cavity.

On top of the physical aspects of this treatment, you will also get a feeling of balance and calm within your body that allows you to focus on looking after baby rather than over worrying about your own body.

During the treatment you will receive a mixture of traditional South American Rebozo techniques, Aromatherapy Oil Massage and Bowen Fascial Release Technique.
